Wayne and Coleen 'upset' at Rio Ferdinand wedding snub

Reports suggest that Rooney and new wife Coleen were upset at the absence of Rio Ferdinand at their wedding.

The defender is noticeably absent from photographs of the lavish occasion on the Italian Riviera, the rights of which were sold to OK! magazine for £2.5 million.

Rooney and his new bride were reportedly "upset and mystified" that both Ferdinand and his fiancee Rebecca Ellison failed to make it, despite the groom having laid on a private jet to take them to the event.

Guests who did make it included a host of footballers together with their wives, including Manchester United stars John O'Shea, Michael Carrick and Wes Brown, and Rooney's former Everton team-mate Duncan Ferguson.

Ferdinand was spotted holidaying on a beach in Israel with friends a few days later.

Rooney and McLoughlin, both 22, tied the knot in two ceremonies in Italy.

Roanldo Wrong To Put United In This Situation

If United's claim to be the world's leading club is not to be mocked, they may have to carry out Ferguson's threat - but will the Glazers continue to back their manager? We shall see. But Ronaldo and those who advise him should not have put the club in this position. Not a year after the signing of a generously improved contract. At 23, he is of an age when it would have done no harm to observe a decent interval. If Real were not willing to allow him to stay at Old Trafford for another year, say, Barcelona would surely have obliged.

United Dismiss Fergie `I`ll Quit` Reports

Reports have said that Ferguson had told a confidant that he would push forward his retirement should the club's crown jewel be sold against his will by American owners the Glazer family.

United, however, have categorically denied the reports, while at the same time insisting that there is no chance that their Portuguese star will be sold.

The player himself has said he will finally make a definitive statement regarding his future after Euro 2008.

Now that FIFA have cleared Madrid of any wrongdoing reports are saying Real Madrid are lining up a £50 million offer for Ronaldo.

Rio on Fergie`s Retirement

Rio Ferdinand expects Sir Alex Ferguson to remain at the helm of Manchester United for more than 2 or 3 years, in an interview he gave whilst in Southern Africa.

Ferdinand thinks that the passion Fergie has for the game won`t allow him to retire too early, but will only when the time is right.

The 23-year-old Ronald arrived with the rest of the Portugal side at their Euro 2008 base at Neuchatel, whose streets were a blaze of Portuguese flags.

Where will he play next season? Cristiano Ronaldo will decide on his Old Trafford future "in the next two or three days"

As he pondered his decision, Ronaldo would be aware of a threat from Manchester United's owners, the Glazer family, that they would drop him from the squad completely, rather than do a deal with Real Madrid.

According to Fergie after his meetings with the Glazers-
Their attitude is: 'To hell with them (Madrid)'. They would sit the player in the stands just to prove a point that they will not give in to these people. They have got balls, I can tell you. I have been delighted with them in that respect."
