Manchester United 1 - 0 Everton

Cristiano Ronaldo's 44th-minute penalty - awarded after Mikel Arteta tripped Michael Carrick - put them five points ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea before they meet at Anfield on Sunday.

Everton put a lot of men behind the ball, a favourite tactic for visiting teams at Old Trafford, but it wasn`t good enough to keep the Reds out.

And, even better, goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar eclipsed the previous league record of 1,104 minutes without conceding a goal, set by Reading's Steve Death in 1979.

West Brom. thrashed 0-5 by Manchester United

Bottom of the league West Bromwich Albion were well beaten as West Bromwich Albion were hit for five against the Reds.

Dimitar Berbatov struck the first in the 22nd minute at The Hawthorns after linking up well with Michael Carrick.

Four minutes later Scott Carson failed to hold a Ryan Giggs free-kick and Tevez pounced to smash the loose ball into the roof of the net.

Nemanja Vidic headed home a third on the hour mark and two from Cristiano Ronaldo completed the rout.

United Win in 4th Round FA Cup

Dimitar Berbatov scored what proved to be the winning goal against Spurs as Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in a pulsating FA Cup fourth round tie at Old Trafford yesterday. The pass from teammate Carrick was inch-perfect as both joined up in beating their former club.

Berbatov, who left Spurs for United in August, beat the offside trap to put the home side ahead two minutes after a deflected long-range shot from Paul Scholes had cancelled out Roman Pavlyuchenko's fifth minute opener for Tottenham.

Manchester United reach Carling Cup final

Manchester United (3) 4 Derby County (0) 2; Agg 4-3

Leading at the interval through goals from Nani, John O’Shea and Carlos Tevez, United were troubled by the introduction of Giles Barnes, an inspired move by Nigel Clough, as he promptly scored twice, a penalty and a free-kick.

Fortunately for the Reds, Cristiano Ronaldo converted a spot-kick inbetween and they were safe.

United Go Top After Win at Bolton

Things got a little nervy on Saturday when Manchester United`s last minute winner put them to the top of the Premiership.

It was frustrating for the Reds as Bolton put so much into their defence and midfield that it looked more like an away team. Not pretty football, but it`s what we`ve come to expect from Bolton, sadly.

Thankfully Carlos Tévez provided the ammunition and Berbatov pulled the trigger with a header in the closing stages of the match.

If Liverpool beat their rivals Everton tonight they`ll go back to the top. Hopefully that won`t happen!

I Discovered Some Great Golf Bargains

One of the sports many footballers enjoy is golf. It isn`t just for the rich and famous though. At Planet Golf UK they have a range of cheap golf equipment to suit all tastes and pockets.

All ages are catered for, including the new range of electric trolleys for junior golfers. When I checked out what they have on offer I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of cheap golf equipment and accessories from top manufacturers such as Cobra, Nike, Mizuno and more. Trolleys are well designed to be easy to use and manoeuvre on the golf course.

Planet Golf UK even offers made to measure and customisation services so that any equipment purchased through them may be adapted to customer`s own measurements. They say that if, for example, none of the electric trolleys on display meets your needs then you can call them to discuss your specific requirements.

Nowadays it pays to shop around. The credit crunch is hitting everyone`s pockets, and finding a bargain is more important that ever. That doesn`t necessarily mean to say that such activities as golf have to be given up, but it certainly pays to check out the prices before parting with your hard earned money. That`s why the range of cheap golf equipment and accessories at Planet Golf UK is such a big hit with their customers.

United Beat Wigan 1-0 To Go Second

With their 1-0 win over Wigan last night United went above Chelsea. It took just a minute for Manchester United to score through a pass from the right wing from Ronaldo, and Rooney slotted the ball home.

Rooney had to leave the field with a hamstring injury which could mean he`ll be out for about three weeks.

The game didn`t go all United`s way though, and Wigan came close to scoring on several occasions, as did the Reds.

A victory over Bolton on Saturday would see them go top of the Premiership.

Cristiano Ronaldo is confident Manchester United will win the Premier League title after the winger was named Fifa's World Player of the Year.

Red Devils Haunt Chelsea

Rafa`s rant didn`t do Manchester United any harm at all.

A goal by Vidic in the first half, followed by two second half goals by Rooney and Berbatov saw the Reds beat Chelsea 3-0.

Ronaldo In Car Crash

Cristiano Ronaldo thankfully escaped injury earlier today when he crashed his £200,000 Ferrari on his way to training. At least he won`t be without transport - he owns a Bentley Continental GT Speed and a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. He also has two Porsche Cayennes and a BMW M6.

On another note-
A stunning long-range effort from Kris Commons was enough to ensure that Manchester United left Pride Park with their tails between their legs last night. It also ensures that they will have to take the game to Derby during the second leg at Old Trafford. The game finished 1-0 to Derby.

Southampton 0 - Manchester United 3

Dimitar Berbatov had a fantastic game yesterday, being involved in everything United did. Danny Welbeck’s header, Nani’s penalty and Darron Gibson’s shot made the scoreline 3 to United, the Saints 0. Berbatov was comfortably Man of the Match in my view.

Sothampton`s Matt Paterson was red-carded for a first-half studs-up challenge on Nemanja Vidic. He left the referee with no option other than to send him off. Paterson apologised to his team-mates afterwards.

The ref, Mike Riley deemed Nani’s free-kick to have struck David McGoldrick on the arm which led to a penalty which Nani converted.

Rooney came on with 30 minutes of the game left, and stirred up the United players. The England international then created the third, cutting the ball back to Gibson, who finished expertly.

United have a young group of upcoming players - Jonny Evans, Rafael, Darron Gibson, Rodrigo Possebon, Danny Welbeck and Manucho.

The Reds face Spurs in the 4th round.
