Pressure On Chelsea as Manchetser United Win 3-1 Against Spurs

Manchester United really need to win all their remaining matches to stand a chance of winning the Premiership.

Possibly the hardest of those matches came yesterday against a good Spurs side. At half time there were no goals, but at the end it was Manchester United 3-1 against the visitors.

The first goal came courtesy of a penalty when Evra was brought down in the box. Ryan Giggs, the `old man` of the team stepped up to take his first Premiership penalty ever, and duly scored.

King headed home the equaliser to make it 1-1. Then Nani made a wonderful chip over the Spurs goalkeeper to make it 2-1. Finally, Nani was brought down in the box and once again Giggs put the ball away to make it 3-1. The pressure is back on Chelsea.

Scholes Wins Derby For United

It was left to one of the old men of Manchester United, Paul Scholes, to win the match for Manchester United in the derby game earlier today.

Scholes`s header in the last few seconds of extra time against Manchester City gave United all 3 points, and keeps their hopes of the Premiership title alive, just.

Spurs beat Chelsea 2-1, which now means that Chelsea are just one point ahead of the Red Devils.

Great news that Scholes extended his contract at Old Trafford by one year!

Rooney For Real Madrid?

I`ve been reading reports that once again Real Madrid are trying to poach the best of our players. Now it seems they may be after Wayne Rooney. Real Madrid are apparently prepared to pay  £150m for the England striker, and a wage of £250,000 per week. Difficult to resist for Rooney if that is the case.

Wayne Rooney is also favourite to receive the  PFA Player of the Year.

Carlos Tevez at Manchester City is another hot contender for the award, so too is Didier Drogba of Chelsea.

United Out of Europe

Last night was so disappointing for Manchester United and their supporters as the side went out of the Champions League even though they beat Bayern Munich 3-2. Aggregate score was 4-4, but the German side progressed on the away goal rule.

England now have no representatives left in Europe this year.

Manchester United have  announced their second new signing for next season after agreeing terms with Chivas for Javier Hernandez, the Mexico striker. Hernandez, aged 21, will become a United player on July 1 if he obtains a work permit.

As part of the deal, it has been agreed that United will play a match to open the new 45,000 capacity Chivas Stadium in Guadalajara as part of next season`s preparations.

United Go Down to Chelsea

Chelsea go 2 points above Manchester United after their win over the Champions yesterday.

Not a lot to say, Chelsea won 2-1. The 2nd goal from them was clearly offside, and United are desperately missing Rooney.
