Bad For United - Good For Giggsy

A pity that Manchester United slipped up badly at Old Trafford against Aston Villa on Saturday. Losing 0-1 meant they lost the chance to go equal on points with Chelsea. Chelsea don`t draw or lose too many games and it`s a shame United didn`t take advantage of the Chelsea draw.

Maybe Fergie should have used more of his young players who he deserted in this game in favour of the older and more experienced in the squad.

On a much brighter note, Ryan Giggs won BBC Sports Personality of the Year last night.

Giggs looked shocked when it was announced. He hadn`t even prepared an acceptance speech.

Formula 1 champion Jenson Button was voted  into second place, though he seemed the bookies` favourite to win the award.

Giggs holds a fair amount of records for Man United. He  is the most decorated player in English club football history, winning a record 11th Premier League winner's medal last season.

Great result for a true ambassador of the game, and well deserved.
