Are Manchester United`s Wheels Falling Off?

Oh dear! The Manchester United wheels appear to be falling off big time!

The defeat against Liverpool last week was bad enough. But, the loss to Fulham was embarrassing, if not humiliating.

Fergie could be criticised for the team he put out against Liverpool, but when I looked at the teamsheet on Saturday I thought he`d got it just about spot on for their match down in London.

Scholes getting sent off for a handball on the line didn`t help of course. Playing with just 10 men for most of the 90 minutes isn`t ideal. But to add insult to injury, Rooney was sent off in the second half which made things even worse. Murphy`s penalty sent the keeper the wrong way, and Fulham went 1-0 up early in the match.

Losing Scholes, Rooney and Vidic through suspensions is the last thing United need.

As for the game, not much to say. Fulham were a different side to the one which got thrashed by United in the FA Cup round a few weeks ago.

Fulham looked like they were up for it, and thoroughly deserved the win against a lacklustre United. In the end, the 2-0 result was about right, though the Red Devils did miss some good chances.

The good thing is that Chelsea`s loss to Spurs meant they couldn`t pull point sback against United. The bad news is that Liverpool hammered Aston Villa, so are breathing down the necks of the Old Trafford side.
