Man United 4 Man City 3

United’s performance went from the sublime to the ridiculous. They took the lead in the third minute when Patrice Evra ran on to Giggs’s throw-in, with Shaun Wright-Phillips asleep, and set up Wayne Rooney for an exceedingly well-taken goal.

Thirteen minutes later Foster ran from his penalty area and panicked under pressure from Carlos Tévez, who tackled him and teed up Gareth Barry for City’s first equaliser.

Three times United edged in front in the clash but every time City came back until the champions delivered a knock-out blow deep into stoppage time when Michael Owen slotted home the winner.

Giggs was his usual energetic brilliant self, it`s hard to believe he is 35 years old.

Sir Alex Ferguson hailed his side's 4-3 win over Manchester City as one of the best derbies of all time.
