Manchester United Hopeful of Signing Valencia

It looks like Manchester United will win the battle against Liverpool to secure the services of Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia, from Wigan Athletic.

But United may not want to finalise the move until they have official confirmation the world record £80m transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo is completed with a medical in Madrid.

Real Madrid and now Bayern Munich are also very interested in the 23 year old midfielder.

£17 million on Valencia would see United make a handsome profit from the sale of Ronaldo, but how he compares skill-wise is yet to be seen.
