United Finally Get Their Man Berbatov

The long-running saga over the transfer of the Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov is over. Spurs have confirmed they had accepted a bid of £30.75million and had taken Fraizer Campbell on loan for the rest of the season. They also agreed to drop their complaint that Manchester United had acted improperly by seeking to unsettle the player.

Berbatov was unwilling to even meet Manchester City, the club the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, had wanted to do business with, they were faced with either accepting United’s money or taking back a clearly disgruntled player, who could buy out his contract in 10 months time.
